I’ve talked a bit about sodium hydroxide, but what is potassium hydroxide (KOH)? Well, similarly to sodium hydroxide it is an inorganic compound, lye! However potassium hydroxide is used specifically in making liquid soaps.🧴 KOH is caustic🔥 so always be sure to wear your safety gear when messing around with this stuff! I am new to using potassium hydroxide, as I have been focusing primarily on creating cold process soap‘s so far. But I can’t wait to share more future recipes with you all where I incorporate this.😌

Jojoba oil is one of my favorite oils out there, I don’t use it in high amounts in my soap unfortunately because it can destroy the lather😕…however it is a great antioxidant as it is full of vitamin E, giving it magic healing properties✨ 😉 This stuff is super conditioning to skin and hair and traps in moisture as soon as it comes into contact. 😍 What are some of your favorite oils or butters?
