2024-01-19 12:43:30 +0000 UTC View PostReplaced a failing AlarmLock DL1200. Also replaced the General brand deadlatch and paddle with an AdamsRite 4900 latch and Universal Paddle. That thing was completely fucked. All new now.

2023-12-24 01:42:42 +0000 UTC View PostReplaced some failed Yale privacy levers. Yale products have declined badly over the years. Super sh!ty quality. I replace at least 3 of these a week and it's been that way for a few years. It's what the customer wants, it's what they get. At least I'm making a ton of money from it... 🤷♂️
2023-12-24 01:40:48 +0000 UTC View PostI installed a dozen of these AlarmLock Trilogy DL2700 locks over 6 locations with Medeco X4 small format interchangeable cores. They were locking down the restrooms because they've had the urinal and toilet plumbing stolen several times. Now an employee must let the customer into the restroom. Crazy expensive but I guess it's cheaper than repetitive calls to the plumber. All of the locations were identical. Remove push/pull plates and fresh install Trilogy with Medeco X4 SFIC Cores on 2 doors. Each location took about 2.5 hours and invoiced for $2141.25
2023-12-24 01:34:17 +0000 UTC View PostFound a knock-off Multl-t-lock cylinder on a storefront. Whomever installed it left it loose AF. I twisted it out (with no damage to the set screw) and replaced it with an SC1 cylinder keyed to the management company's vacancy master key.
2023-11-30 01:19:04 +0000 UTC View PostLittle project. The contractor had one about 10% installed then got stupid (and scared)... Not only did I get to sell Medeco X4 to the customer, but charged the contractor a fuck-ton to fix his mistake and finish installing.
2023-11-30 01:13:07 +0000 UTC View PostLock wouldn't lock from either side of the door. Found Stanley type sliding glass doors. These have a top rod and bolt the frequently slip the bolt guide and this causes a jam. Sometimes you can remove the top guide and adjust the bolt that's on the threaded stock, but sometimes it's so severe you pull the lock from the door and straighten everything out by hand. This one, the threaded rod was crooked as a dog's hind leg and the apparatus between the rod and the mortise body was badly bent. Pulled it from the top of the door and got it straightened out and replaced. All adjusted and works like new. Whomever was in this last, lost an allen head screw for the top guide and stuck a self tapper in there. Although it wouldn't surprise me if the original installer did it. It looked like it had been there for a while and this store isn't that old. After getting it fixed and function checked (25 times, minimum) I powered up the door to watch it cycle a few times. Of course this is when every grandmother and soccer mom in town want to go in or out. Took me 5 minutes waiting for it to cycle the first time hahaha #EasyMoney #AlwaysFun
2023-11-19 13:30:08 +0000 UTC View PostInstalled new Medeco M3 cylinder. Some yahoo keyed the old Schlage FSIC core with descending cuts 🙄 Everything is cool now tho 😎
2023-11-19 00:47:24 +0000 UTC View PostThey called and said they had a "quitter"... They did 😆... and they now have a new one. Everything was cleaned and lubed. It's like "new old" now 😉
2023-11-18 18:46:46 +0000 UTC View PostOld school Medeco Keymark Classic. Had to drill it out and replace the core. Something got in the keyway and caused a failure. All keys quit working.
2023-11-17 02:03:02 +0000 UTC View PostInstalled a Baldwin electronic deadbolt in the house to garage door on a Fortune-100 CEO's home. I had to order a Medeco conversion cylinder for it and key it to his key. Didn't have to program/set it up, his IT guy was going to do that after installation.
2023-11-17 01:50:11 +0000 UTC View PostBlanca finally got her windows tinted. She doesn't have side or rear cargo windows so I've had window tint on the back burner. The other day I was doing NSP paperwork in a parking lot and the sun was burning my arm. It was time. I got the good XR Plus ceramic tint. Can't even feel the sun now

2023-11-07 12:30:06 +0000 UTC View PostSurlock got a new circuit board, alarm speaker and micro-switch. I also replaced a bad lever while I was there
2023-11-07 02:02:47 +0000 UTC View PostThe operating key stopped working. After wiggling and jiggling with the master key I finally got it to turn. I was going to replace the core with new, but the control key was not working. I drilled the control shear and turn the lug but it would not come out. I ran a small self-tapper in to give me leverage to jerk the core out. I found that the retaining C clip on the back had work loose and it trapped the core inside the lockset.

2023-11-07 01:52:45 +0000 UTC View PostFound the upper bearing detent and the door receiver detent loose AF making locking up a hassle. The upper concealed vertical rod must pass through both the door detent and the bearing detent in the top to properly lock. They had worked loose and was causing the cvr to bind. These Stanley automatic sliding doors are very common and this is just one of the issues I see with them. Video in comments below 👇

2023-10-05 21:52:16 +0000 UTC View PostArrived on a job site to install SFIC Medeco x4 core in a new addition to the building to match their existing system. The contractor had installed Corbin Russwin LFIC levers (instead of the specified SFIC). Contractor double checked his paperwork and said SFIC was ordered but apparently they received LFIC from the supplier. The average contractor/installer probably doesn't know the difference or could tell the difference, but I knew straight away when I saw it. I showed him the difference with an X4 SFIC. He said, "wow, damn it, wow". I said, "yeah, it's like throwing a hotdog down a hallway"... We both laughed. He is correcting the problem and I'll be back next week.
