Don't ask me about my favorite park unless you have tiiiiime. Because I can't pick and I'm gonna tell you why each is a life changing experience. But so far as truly great days go, this one is top of the list. It's Zion National Park and I'm hiking/climbing to Angel's Landing. A perfect day. Oh! And there's a bow on my bag because it was Christmas.

Great Sand Dunes is an otherworldly place. Hiking those dunes is a serious workout so I spent most of my time in the shallow river. It's unique because the sand makes little dams that hold water until they give way, causing surges that make the river undulate and dance. If you visit, the surrounding area is known as the spiritual center of Colorado. There are temples, shrines, churches and a ziggurat to explore. Also, the locals will invite you to the hot springs and ask if you've seen any aliens yet....
