I’m a type 1 diabetic which means I have to rely 100% on insulin. It can’t be cured by diet or exercise, nor can I take pills.
That being said, insulin is probably around $1000/ vial. I need around 3 vials a month. Luckily I have insurance, so I’m not stuck paying 3000$ to live, if you exclude the total cost of test strips, glucose sensors, insulin pump ($8000 for the Medtronic one that I have which is the cheapest one that I know of on the market), and other necessities.
However, I still have to pay for some of my supplies.
So that’s why I will be setting up a fund for my monthly medical bills. Your support is appreciated.
