My shoulder injury from a couple months ago was bothering me a lot and I really wanted to get it worked on a little before I head back to BC again. I always tell the massage therapist to apply as much pressure as they feel they need to do a good job, and I can handle it. And I got through it ok today, like I would have bit on a leather strap at some parts if I had it but I focussed on breathing and understanding it is a productive pain. There were many fucked up knots in my neck and back though and I bet had the pain not peaked where it did I might’ve passed out haha. That was rough. I grew up receiving a treatment called Kerokan (or gua sha) from my grandmother. If you made even a peep of discomfort you were no longer allowed to have it, and I really felt like it did me good when I was sick. Or maybe I just liked showing off my pain tolerance to my cousins and siblings who couldn’t handle it lol. It hurt so badly though haha. And so did today but I put an ice pack on it when I got home and took an Advil. I’m going to try going one more time before I leave again I want to be tip top shape for this trip!
