It's unique because the sand makes little dams that hold water until they give way, causing surges that make the river undulate and dance. If you visit, the surrounding area is known as the spiritual center of Colorado. There are temples, shrines, churches and a ziggurat to explore. Also, the locals will invite you to the hot springs and ask if you've seen any aliens yet....
