I’m off to the motherland !! 🇰🇷 SOUTH KOREA 🇰🇷
It’s been six years since the last time I was here when I was 21, and I was still quite a lost boy at that time. But my parents and I are visiting my dad’s side of the family that lives here and I’m excited to foster a relationship with this side of my cultural heritage and ancestry that I’ve always felt a bit distanced from. My Korean language skills are pretty elementary and I’m still learning proper respect etiquette, but today is my first day with my grandma, aunt and uncle and cousins and everyone has been remarking on how much I’ve grown, how American I look, how tan I am compared to them, and how much I can eat compared to them ! My aunt and grandma keep shoving food my way more than I can keep up with haha.
I have some content that I recorded before I left that I’ve queued for the week, and I’m going to try and post some pics and clips while I’m here, but I may not be as attentive until I return to NYC last week of November. Would appreciate your understanding if posting is slow for the next 3 weeks while I spend really special time connecting with my extended family and my heritage. <333
