

Did you know it takes a deficit of 3,500 calories to burn a pound of fat? That means if you're consuming 2,000 calories a day, and your daily requirement is 2,500 calories, you can assume you'll lose 1 pound of fat a week.
Now, there are other variables that can come into play here. Activity level, how long you've been dieting, stubborn genetics. But when building a nutrition plan for weight loss, this is a great rule and numeric starting point to work with.
