It was something I had been wanting to do for a really long time, being the representation I wish I had growing up. If I didn't see bodies like mine represented, let me be the one to do it so other folks feel like they belong and are normal. Yesterday, my favorite store and the store that allowed me to even begin to have an interest in fashion reposted me on their Instagram with almost a million followers. Now I know, it's social media so who cares and yes that's definitely true. But I vividly remember when Torrid opened at the mall here. I saw some cute clothes from the window and prepared myself to not be able to wear anything in there, like almost every other store in the mall. I'll shop accessories worst case scenario, which is what I usually did. But then I went in and they *only* carried plus size?! And *fashionable* plus size?! I almost cried! I even did a little mall fashion show with them when I was a teenager, ft bondage pants and an Emily the Strange hoodie 😅😅 If I could tell teenage Alyssa that one day she'd be featured on this store's social media in lingerie, well, she would have laughed. She probably never even thought she'd own lingerie, let alone wear it, let alone take a picture in it, let alone POST IT on social media. I'd be a badass in teenage Alyssa's book, so I'll take that win.. she wasn't easy to impress 😅 Ok sappy moment done. I'm very proud of the hard work I've put in and the therapy I've done to gain self worth and am so grateful for the people in my life who reinforce those things in me and themselves. You are worthy, you are loved, and you are perfect just as you are. 😘 If you made it to the bottom of this post thank you and I love you!
