This was a dream of mine, that I thought I will cross of my bucket list when I’m old and my monsteras are mature enough to start baring fruit but… Dreams come true in unexpected ways! The universe creates these opportunities for you to grab on to. So, where did I get this plant? We moved to a new house and in the neighbourhood on a corner there is an abandoned house under reconstruction. Somewhere from the bushes familiar leaves were peaking out to the road. Since I’ve noticed it driving by it was calling me… asking to be taken home with me. So I did. Me and my girlfriend Daria got up this morning and discussed how we need to take care of 2 monsteras we got from the previous tenant. They needed care and I told her about the one desperate for saving down the road. We jumped in a car with a knife and drove a few houses down to see. When we looked at it it was a gigantic vine with multiple other wines coming in all directions. It wouldn’t survive any Gardner priming at that point it was destined for a new home. We cut the hand thick trunk of the vine and barely fit the beast in my car. Even had to put the back seats down to fit… we brought her home and named her Milda. We cleaned her and cut off her crusty edges. Yanis was our muscular power to bring her new pot to the patio. He showed immense strength and understanding of the situation. Full and total support 🫶 Some leaves are yellow others are torn from other plants she was growing amongst but she is finally happy.
