Added 2020-10-09 16:04:06 +0000 UTCPersonal Life Rant so I had been saving for new crutches, (mine are too big and making my elbows hyper extend- and now they crack, grind and pop when I move them and it kills) but anyways I decided against ordering some cause I was afraid Id spend money for something that wouldnt be the right size for me. So my doctor ordered me some new crutches and I went to the only place near me that can order them and have been waiting weeks for my new crutches. I got a call yesterday stating they were ready! My last ones were “tweens” and the new ones are “ki ds” well the problem is the length from the grip to the cuff being too big. Well.. the “ki d s” ones are the same length cuff to grip as my “tween” ones and even the people were like ?? How can these be for k ids if they dont even fit you?! Turns out the companies near me can only order by age group, and the next size down would be todd lers.. so thats a no go.. and any crutches my insurance can cover, Are way too big or far too small my brace maker explained they cannot customize the ones I have bc it would make them dangerous.. and so he called up a company and gave my size.. they have one pair that “may” work for me but they cant get them for me nor can any other company so Ill still have to buy them myself and “hope” they fit so I can stop destroying my elbows.. Youd think there would be more options in todays world for disabled people.. rant over
