I know I’m out of order with my posting plans, but sometimes you have to do what you can, when you can do it. I struggle hard with trying to be perfect the first time. I want high-quality, I want lighting, staging, movement, I want something unique and different and beautiful… I sit editing with my coke-bottle glasses on to pick the perfect frames to start and stop with. I fiddle with color and light. I anguish over my makeup, my hair, what I’ll wear- most daunting of all, I want to make all these plans and still capture myself *naturally*… Fake isn’t any fun. But when you’re your own worst critic, it’s hard to relax! Add the impossible beast that is the never-ending churn of time, and life’s uncertainties, psyching oneself out is easy.
We all have problems with perfectionism and imposter syndrome, and I hope this reminds you to take a deep breath and take that first step into something, even though it might not be perfect the first time… There’s no such thing as time wasted when you’re learning and practicing! Be it work or hobbies… If you can dream it, you can be it. Just put one foot in front of the other.
