After holding my face down into the mattress, I staggered back and stood up straight to see him sitting on our bed pointing a gun at my face. I almost thought he was joking… I looked into his eyes and he didn’t look to be in there almost. He fired the gun at the same time I smacked the top of it down towards the ground. It fired and I almost thought my pinky got shot… but it was ok. Then I ran downstairs and called 9-1-1. He overheard me on the phone and started screaming that “he had to kill himself now there was no other way out” I ran to the bottom of the staircase and he was sitting on them towards the top, pointing the gun at his temple. I said “no no no please don’t do this we can figure something out!” Then, he pointed the gun at me again and fired 3 times. I ducked. No lie, hands on my head duck & cover style. 2 of those bullets grazed my head. I don’t get it. I turned out of the way into the living room, looked at my hands and they were already covered in red. I stood and knew I needed to get outside… I went for the front door and while I fumbled to unlock it I heard 3 more gunshots. I believe he fired 2 more at me while I was moving and the last one, he shot himself in the head at the bottom of the stairs. 😭 I left the hospital same day with only 9 staples. There are a lot of news stories on this- they’re all pretty inaccurate in my opinion. The “stand off” was unnecessary. https://gofund.me/d02d4149
